MMT100 = I'm In!

The Massanutten 100 miler has sort of a "unique" way they hold their lottery: Each applicant is assigned an original 3-digit number when they sign up for the lottery. My number this year is 352. On the day of the lottery (which is today), they use the last three digits of the Dow Jones closing number to establish the "starting point" of the acceptance list. If the Dow finishes "up" for that day, the MMT race accepts the first 180 runners who had numbers higher than that starting point.  With the Dow closing UP 13.32 points today, the final closing number was 11,372.48. Looking at those last 3 digits, our official starting point is 248. This is AWESOME news for me, Mr. 352!!

The wait for my return to MMT will finally be over after three years of frustration...Revenge (and lots of smiles) will be mine on May 14!!

Congrats on getting in! No such luck for me...missed by about 20 spots :( Oh well, maybe I will have better luck for HR.

What a relief, Dan - congratulations! And no airplane needed for this one -- nice and local! :-)

Congrats Dan! Glad luck was on your side. Nick should hang in there - the waiting list moves fast.

I am so excited for you...if I could have influenced the Dow Jones and the direction the market I definitely would have!!! But since I couldn't apparently my lucky bears are working overtime:-)

Now you'll be in great shape when you pace me along bits a pieces of my Grand Slam:-)

CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Tammy

Thanks everyone!

Nick - They average 50+ people coming off the wait list by race week if you want to roll those dice. MMT would be a nice warm-up for you before going for the win at HR too! I'm not sure how the odds work for that lottery, but your finish last year definitely helps you out, right?

Kim - Looks like we'll be running together quite a bit next spring. See you at the Reverse Ring!

Thanks for the info on the wait list. I will probably join and see how it looks. The field looks like it should be a good one as well - hopefully you are healthy and in the mix by the end!

Yeah, I have fairly good odds for HR. I have 3 tickets (one like everyone, one for finishing, and one for top 5). Certainly better odds than most but still no guarantee.
